MIRA Signs One of the First Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme (WCSP) Supplier Contracts

World renowned vehicle engineering consultancy MIRA has recently signed one of Lockheed Martin UK Ampthill’s first Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme (WCSP) supplier contracts. This significant move is the latest development in the on-going expansion of the Technology Park at MIRA and will see Lockheed Martin’s UK engineers working closely with their MIRA counterparts in Nuneaton.

The £1 billion WCSP project will bring together some of the UK’s finest engineers, with MIRA and Lockheed Martin experts collaborating on mechanical design, electrical design, systems integration and specialist test work. Following the announcement approximately twenty new engineers and support staff will initially be employed at MIRA’s headquarters in the Midlands, with additional personnel expected to be recruited as the programme matures.

“By entering into these agreements, we are securing jobs and providing a positive impact to our subcontractor and supplier base,” said Alan McCormick, Managing Director of Lockheed Martin UK Ampthill. “Investing in the supply chain is an integral part of the £1 billion WCSP.”

Nigel Skellern, Business Development Manager for Defence at MIRA welcomed the announcement.
