Development Continues at MIRA Technology Park as Key Infrastructure Construction Begins

MIRA Technology Park – the Enterprise Zone near Nuneaton / Hinckley – has begun the next stage of its development with the construction of new infrastructure.

The construction project, which is now underway, is funded by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) Local Infrastructure Fund (LIF) and includes the creation of a new road network and onsite roundabout. These developments will give access to key areas of land within MIRA Technology Park, enabling it to grow to its proposed total size of two million sq ft and provide global engineering businesses with the ideal location for their Research and Development operations.

The project represents £12.9 million of HCA LIF funding, and works are being carried out by Birmingham-based Fitzgerald Contractors.

By 2020, MIRA Technology Park is aiming to create up to 2,000 high technology jobs at the park – growth which requires significant infrastructure developments to support it. This project begins as the latest group of companies settle into their new facilities at MIRA Technology Park, including GKN Driveline, Continental and Goodyear, who have all taken space within a newly-created, highly secure, 27,500 sq ft Technology Centre on the site.

This project is also helping provide more opportunities within the built environment sector, creating an ongoing total of over 170 construction workers with employment in creating the infrastructure and R&D facilities that form the backbone of MIRA Technology Park.
