Ministerial Visit Highlights Government Support for MTP Development Plans

Roads Minister Mike Penning recently visited MIRA’s Nuneaton headquarters to see first-hand how the UK is continuing to lead the way in vehicle engineering excellence. The visit came less than a day after Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council announced that MIRA had been granted planning permission for the highly anticipated £300 million MIRA Technology Park – a popular ten year expansion plan that could create over two thousand new jobs in the region.

Speaking after the visit, Penning said,

“Companies like MIRA are leading the way in showcasing Britain’s technological expertise around the world as well as creating jobs and growth in the local area. I was hugely impressed by the work I saw today and I am sure that MIRA’s plans for the future will see the company continue to go from strength to strength.”

Penning’s views were echoed by David Tredinnick, Conservative MP for Bosworth.

“The Minister was very impressed with MIRA’s forward looking approach and has pledged to help MIRA’s business progress on overseas visits. MIRA’s rapid growth makes it a world leader in vehicle development. Importantly for the region it means more than 2,000 top quality jobs for the region.”

The visit showcases continued Government support for the new MIRA Technology Park at both a local and national level, cementing MIRA’s reputation as the UK’s premiere whole-vehicle engineering consultancy company.
