Case Study Overview

A major UK OEM was embarking on a challenging migration towards unique electrical architecture, more electrified powertrains, and increasing levels of complex electronic systems during an update of their premium vehicle lines.

Successes and Benefits

  • All Work Products delivered using customer templates and within the customer’s systems through a mix of onsite and offsite working, allowing HORIBA MIRA to support the customer’s safety culture and dissemination of FuSa knowledge through interaction with key OEM personnel.
  • HORIBA MIRA delivered a flexible FuSa team (including FSM) which provided stability and allowed the customer to meet key gateways and ultimately deliver the projects on time.
  • The long term strategic approach allowed HORIBA MIRA to support effectively around ‘peaks and troughs’ in project delivery.

Due to limited in-house resource the customer was looking to nominate an established leading functional safety consultancy provider as a key partner to deliver functional safety work products on their new vehicle platforms over an 18 month period, with all work products in accordance with ISO 26262:2018.
