An OEM was developing a suite of L3 / L4 systems for traffic jams, highways and parking environments.

Successes and Benefits

  • SOTIF and functional safety hazard activities were carried out according to the requirements of each standard but were linked to ensure compatibility and consistency, and improve completeness.
  • Established traceability across features for functional safety and SOTIF.
  • Providing a combined approach showed where efficiencies could be gained.

HORIBA MIRA provided functional safety and SOTIF activities for the concept phase within in a combined project. We were also responsible for all functional safety concept phase deliverables and one iteration of SOTIF ‘evaluation by analysis’ loop.
