Celebrating a Decade of Progress: 10 Years of HORIBA MIRA

This month, HORIBA MIRA marks a major milestone as it celebrates ten years since joining HORIBA. Over the past decade, the company has evolved dramatically, combining the rich heritage of MIRA with the global strength of HORIBA to become a world leader in mobility engineering and testing.

Since 2015, the business has played a key role in shaping the future of transport and technology, with the strong partnership fuelling long-term investment, supporting pioneering research, and enabling HORIBA MIRA to help its customers tackle some of the most complex challenges in mobility.

From launching the world’s first commercially available virtual proving ground, to opening the UK’s only Passive Safety Centre capable of testing frontal car-to-car impacts, the business has led a series of industry firsts, with its work recognised with major honours, including the King’s Award for Enterprise.

To mark the anniversary, HORIBA Group Chairman and CEO Mr Atsushi Horiba visited the Nuneaton campus, where he toured the site, met with teams and joined colleagues in a summer celebration, a moment to pause and reflect on ten years of shared progress.

Reflecting on the anniversary, Declan Allen, Managing Director of HORIBA MIRA, said:

The past ten years have been defined by shared ambition and trust. What stands out to me is not just how far we’ve come, but what it enables us to do next. Together, we’ve created the conditions for long-term growth by nurturing talent across the business, investing in world-class facilities, and developing MIRA Tech Park into a leading global hub for innovation and technology. As we look ahead, we remain focused on working closely with our customers to deliver HORIBA solutions that truly make a difference.

That spirit of progress is now carrying HORIBA MIRA into new and emerging sectors. While remaining strong in mobility, the business is leveraging its deep engineering expertise to advance cleaner, safer and smarter technologies in areas including in hydrogen fuel cell testing, cybersecurity, and environmental engineering.

A key moment in this evolution is the opening of the new Analytical Solution Plaza at MIRA Tech Park – a dedicated collaboration centre that gives engineers, scientists and researchers hands-on access to the full breadth of HORIBA’s advanced measurement and analytical technologies. Covering clean energy, advanced manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals, clinical diagnostics and environmental science, the facility opens up a new tranche of HORIBA solutions delivered directly from one integrated UK location.

Combined with HORIBA MIRA’s engineering and testing expertise, precision measurement systems, and the powerful STARS Enterprise data platform, the business is now delivering more connected, end-to-end solutions across a growing number of high-impact sectors.

Looking ahead, HORIBA MIRA will continue to invest in talent, sustainable technologies and total HORIBA solutions that help shape the future of the mobility, energy and environmental sectors. Ten years on, the purpose remains the same: to deliver practical, high-quality solutions that improve lives, and do so with Joy and Fun for all.
