Benchmarking of European Market EVs

Case Study Overview

We supported an Asian-based customer with technical benchmarking of European EVs to verify their response to abnormal mains supply waveforms​.

The customer didn’t supply test vehicles, so they needed to be sourced during a global shortage of chips and vehicles​.

Successes and Benefits

  • End-to-end solution offered, from defining test requirements to test plan generation, waveform validation and sourcing of test vehicles​.
  • Completed the full suite of benchmarking tests and gaining insightful data for the customer to compare with their products​.
  • Agile project management catered to changing customer requests.
    Support from the HORIBA team improved communications and ensured queries were clearly understood.

There was a risk of damage to test vehicles and equipment, so care was needed to develop risk assessments in the absence of EV safety documentation for each platform.
