MIRA Announces Latest Milestone in Technology Park Development

MIRA Technology Park has today begun building works on a brand new 27,500 sq ft facility, which is set to house a number of global tier-one companies and vehicle manufacturers.

The fully-let building – valued at £7m – is another major investment by MIRA demonstrating its commitment to accelerating the growth and job creation potential of its Enterprise Zone. The new facility comprises both office space and workshop facilities for five internationally-known businesses, and will bring a total of around 100 additional jobs to the MIRA Technology Park site.

The announcement is another key landmark in the first phase of the £300 million technology park development, which was granted Enterprise Zone status in 2011. As part of this phase, a further 42,500 sq ft of construction work is already underway, including the development of a European Technical Centre for Swedish firm, Haldex.

“Around one hundred engineers and support staff will be located within this new building, and with the continuing growth in the auto sector creating an ever increasing demand for skilled engineers and technicians, MIRA is continuing to working alongside companies arriving on the Technology Park to ensure these they can find the skills and expertise they need.”
