MIRA's calibration centre was established over thirty years ago to support our wide range of on-site vehicle research and development facilities. It benefits from utilising an experienced team of instrument calibration technicians and metrologists.

We are dedicated to providing our clients with a professional, cost effective and high quality instrument calibration service, which covers the wide range of instruments found in modern vehicle research and development.

Our laboratory has quality control systems and processes that are fully compliant with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2008 and ISO IEC 17025:2005. We are also accredited by UKAS as compliant with ISO17025 for specific measurement parameters. The control measures include a rigorous programme of both internal and external audits, competence tests and measurement validations.

We offer a single fixed price for all the instruments that we calibrate, this includes pre and post adjustment measurement results that are fully traceable to National Measurement Standards recorded on a calibration certificate together with the associated measurement uncertainties.

For instruments that are outside the scope of our laboratory we can work with a selected group of experienced calibration laboratories enabling us to offer a “one stop” service to many of our clients.

Our laboratory has a capability in the following parameters:

  • Pressure
  • Electrical
  • Force
  • Temperature
  • Accelerometery
  • Hardness
  • Dimensional
  • Acoustical
  • Mass
  • Torque
