Programme Assurance

The MIRA Programme Management Process (PMP) has evolved from historical MIRA business and market experiences, modified and updated to reflect PRINCE 2 practices, commonly used product development systems in the automotive industry, and compliance with UK MOD defence standards. It is supported by a series of controlled processes that encompass change and configuration control, safety, risk and issues management, cost management, design and quality assurance, earned value management, and supply chain management.

Whilst it is imperative to apply fundamental programme management to all programmes and projects, they can vary widely in scope and complexity. The MIRA Programme Management Process (PMP) is scalable to ensure that the necessary levels of control can be applied without overburdening the programme or project.

MIRA offers a programme management capability that will meet the most stringent customer expectation, whilst facilitating the successful delivery of programmes and projects to cost, schedule and performance targets.

MIRA has used this capability to good effect in its defence business activity, allowing the successful completion of significant programmes for the UK MOD, especially complex solutions to urgent operational requirements, which have also included full ‘in service’ support solutions.

  • Programme Legislation

MIRA maintains a full time dedicated homologation and certification department, which has many years’ experience of ensuring compliance to UK, European, US and Rest of World legislation. This in depth knowledge of current and anticipated legislative requirements can be offered on a consultancy basis, or part of a programme based delivery.

  • Programme Safety

Functional safety is no longer limited to the traditional view of product design, but now encompasses the assessment and management of risks inherent in organisational structures, process definitions, technical publications, personnel, training, and deployment scenarios.

  • Programme Supportability

Supportability is a major concern for defence equipment deployed in hostile situations, and MIRA has accrued substantial knowledge and awareness of the drivers and dependencies impacting maximum availability and reliability of fielded equipment, giving MIRA led programmes a complete integrated logistics support capability.

  • Programme Systems Integration

Having specialist subject matter expertise in a wide range of automotive, aerospace, rail, industrial, and defence engineering systems, it is only to be expected that MIRA can provide a comprehensive systems integration service, as independent integrators or as part of turnkey programme provision.
