HORIBA MIRA’s Bhavisha Lad Named as Winner in Autocar’s Great Women: Rising Stars 2021 Awards

Led by Autocar in association with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the Great Women: Rising Stars awards, which is now in its sixth year, honours the achievements of future leaders of the British automotive industry.

Bhavisha Lad Named as Winner in Autocar’s Great Women: Rising Stars 2021 Awards

Bhavisha Lad, Resourcing Lead at HORIBA MIRA has been named as the winner of the People Development category in Autocar’s Great Women: Rising Stars 2021 awards.

The winners were announced at a virtual event on Tuesday 15th June with the top candidates selected from across a breadth of categories including Aftersales and Workshop, Design and Manufacturing, through to Marketing, Operations and People Development.

The People Development category was open to those whose role is focused on maximising talent within an automotive business, within the OEM, supplier and retail environments and covered both attracting new talent and developing existing talent to its full potential. As the winner, Bhavisha was commended for her outstanding work within the human resources team at HORIBA MIRA, notably her work assessing the new IR35 requirements from the government, to combat tax avoidance by contractors, and the development of HORIBA MIRA’s ‘lunch and learn’ sessions set up to engage with staff to further their knowledge about career progression within the business.

Commenting on her award win, Bhavisha said,

“I am honoured to be recognised amongst such inspirational women as part of the Rising Stars awards. I’ve worked in several industries during my career and automotive is stand-out for me, with the sector evolving so rapidly and new advancements in technology. The judging panel was led by Haymarket Automotive Managing Director Rachael Prasher, alongside a mix of industry experts, including Jim Holder, Mark Tisshaw and Piers Ward from Autocar’s editorial team, as well as the SMMT’s chief executive, Mike Hawes, and head of communications, Karen Parry.

The new VI-grade DiM250 will be commissioned and ready for use as part of vehicle attribute engineering services at HORIBA MIRA from Q1 2023.
