Individual Appraisals and Personal Development Plans sit alongside the business plans and are part of the process which helps us to identify skills requirements. The MIRA Academy supports this by offering an ever-growing suite of training and development opportunities.
As well as developing our own skilled workforce, we aim to address and support the needs of our rapidly increasing customer base within the MIRA Technology Park and the wider industry. As a key partner of the MIRA Technology Institute, we aim to develop the essential skills that are key to fueling individual career ambitions as well as employers business success.
We are developing and offering training courses to industry across a wide range of our business to support both core areas of the Automotive Industry and cutting-edge technologies, these courses, often developed in partnership with our partner Universities are part of the training available to all staff.
Through work placements and links with our education partners, MIRA Academy offers a broad and coherent range of training and development activities to inspire the next generation to consider advanced engineering as an exciting and rewarding career choice.
We also recognise the need to encourage and develop the future generations of engineers, the MIRA Academy engages with our Apprentices, Graduates and other colleagues to provide support in STEM subjects and other work readiness activities to our local schools and colleges whilst offering personal development to the colleagues involved.
Links with Universities
MIRA Academy has strong formal and informal links with Universities. These links include an ever-growing PhD programme, Joint Government funded and commercial technical projects, industrial placements for undergraduates and attracting university undergraduates to our Graduate Training Scheme.
Several of our technical specialists are visiting lecturers to universities, providing their expertise within relevant MSc course and we are jointly developing and delivering some courses through the MIRA Technology Institute.
