Declan Allen

Declan Allen.

Managing Director (MD).

Declan Allen joined MIRA as Operations Director in August 2011 before taking on the increased responsibility of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in February 2013 and then more recently becoming Managing Director of HORIBA MIRA in April 2018.

He is a mechanical engineer by profession, with a Masters in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering from Queens University in Belfast, bringing 20 years of operational management experience in the automotive and motorsport sectors to his role at HORIBA MIRA – which includes responsibility for strategy development and implementation, overall company performance, integration with HORIBA and the development of people and culture.

He is an experienced professional with a proven track record in technical operations and building and leading high performance engineering and testing teams. Prior to joining MIRA he held a senior role at Mercedes Benz HighPerformanceEngines Ltd, where he was responsible for the assembly and test of engines and kinetic energy recovery systems for a number of leading F1 teams. Previous to this he held senior operational roles with Ricardo in the UK and USA.

Declan works as part of the executive team to develop the growth strategy for the business and implement this within HORIBA MIRA in the UK and through the global network of HORIBA operations.
Tim Nathan

Tim Nathan.

Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Tim Nathan joined MIRA as Chief Financial Officer in 2013 before taking on the increased responsibility of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in April 2018.

He
is a qualified Chartered Accountant, having previously qualified with Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC). With 15 years’ experience working in the City for multinational banks - most recently as managing director in the real estate division of RBS Global Banking and Markets - his career has spanned both debt and equity transactions. At MIRA he led the sale of the business to Horiba in July 2015.

In his role at Horiba MIRA, Tim is responsible for all aspects of MIRA's non-technical operations as well as MIRA's Technology Park business. 

Tim works as part of the executive team with two key areas of focus i) developing the Central Functions to ensure they can support the ambitious growth plans of Horiba MIRA and ii) continuing the expansion of Mira Technology Park to maintain its position as a globally recognised location for companies to locate to conduct Automotive R&D.


Dr. Geoff Davis

Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).

Dr Davis joined MIRA in 2009 following 10 years at Ricardo - the technical, engineering and management consultancy. He is an experienced engineering consultancy professional with a solid background in automotive engineering, has up-to-date experience in the latest automotive technologies and trends and has first-hand experience of working across a comprehensive range of overseas territories and industry sectors.

Dr Davis’s background gives him a unique insight into the global automotive industry and he has spent considerable time working with Asian, European and South American markets creating entities, developing new business operations and delivering engineering and strategic consultancy projects for clients.

Moving to MIRA in 2009, Dr Davis was part of the team of four executives that delivered the re-birth of what is the UK’s foremost transport R&D organisation and subsequently selling the business to HORIBA in 2015.

Dr Davis has held a number of roles that span international sales, marketing communications and technology management. He now holds the position of Chief Strategy Officer and oversees the development of emerging automotive technologies whilst supporting the HORIBA Group on marketing, corporate strategy and technology consultancy for the Automotive segment.
